I know that several of the official bloggers over at the admissions page have been blogging about mystery hunt, but I just wanted to add in that I'm having a great time with the hunt. Originally I was hoping to take the bus to Boston for the weekend and stay with a friend who lives at Random, but that didn't really work out, so I'm puzzling remotely. This means that although I'm part of the Random Hall team (A Man, A Plan, A Canal, Suez) I'm working from my computer at home in New Jersey. I'm not planning on showing quite the dedication and insomnia that I would be if I were actually at MIT, but I couldn't turn down a weekend of puzzles (especially since I really need to be studying for midterms, which are next week).
I don't want to give anything away about any of the puzzles, but it is so satisfying to be the first one to figure something out about of clue. I haven't contributed too much yet (and the main puzzle I'm working on hasn't yet been solved) but it's so cool. I can't wait until next year when I'll actually be at MIT for IAP.
